Hey sorry if this thread is a bit redundant with my previous one, but I'm looking to use both and I'm having trouble getting them to work (and frankly I don't know which installation video for PlugY to use since some of them are very very old). As far as I know PD has been updated to 1.14D but there exists a previous version for 1.13C (how well that one works I have no idea) and PlugY is only usable up to 1.13C? I'm not sure if I can even use both at the same time or if there will be some conflict (if I had to choose between them, I'd probably go with PlugY simply because of the Uber events/Ladder runewords/stash space). I'm basically looking for some quality of life changes to single player. EDIT: Okay so I've got both mods working, but not with each other.
Basically, Random Drops works by me adding '-direct -txt' to the D2 LoD launcher shortcut (similar to how Glide works for 1.13 by adding '-3dfx') but since PlugY uses its own launcher I don't know how I can get it to read the other mod (adding '-direct -txt' to it in the same way does not work). Does anyone have any ideas?
Re - Diablo II Mods on Mac Hi, Renaming the d2_patch.mpq file to 'Diablo II Patch (Carbon)' is definitely the right way to do it. Double check you did the renaming right. What mod are you trying to install anyway - some mods have not been designed to work on a Mac, and most mods are designed for a specific patch of the game. Some mods only run with 1.10, not 1.11b.
Joytokey V5 2 1 Incl Serial Full Half Duplex. You'll have to check your game patch level and make sure it is compatible with the mod. FYI, if you do the full install of Diablo II + LoD, using the native Mac OS X installer, you get version 1.10. Hope this helps in some way. Downloaded the mod to try it out. This is getting weird. When *I* put the patch_D2.mpq into the Diablo 2 directory & rename it to 'Diablo II Patch (Carbon)', the game does actually launch just fine.
However, I don't see anything special about it - i.e. I have no idea if the mod does anything! The game runs, no problem with creating a character & playing. The mod also has a few DLLs, which will not work on Mac at all. Hence you can't really use all features of this mod (in single player), as it is designed for Windows version (this is probably why I don't see anything different in the mod).
